Regular Physical Therapy: focuses on diagnosing and treating injuries or medical conditions that limit your movement, strength, or ability to function. It’s often recommended after an injury, surgery, or for chronic pain. The goal is to reduce pain, restore function, and help you recover as fully as possible.
Example:
Recovering from a knee injury so you can walk without pain.
Rebuilding strength and mobility after surgery.
Improving posture and alignment to manage chronic back pain.
Wellness Physical Therapy: is for anyone who wants to improve how their body feels, moves, or performs—not because of an injury, but to prevent problems or optimize overall health. It’s about taking your body to the next level, whether you want to stay active, prevent injury, or enhance your fitness and mobility.
Example:
Creating a personalized stretching and strengthening plan to prevent pain while working at a desk all day.
Massage
Fine-tuning your movement patterns to improve performance in sports or daily activities while respecting past injuries so you stay feeling good.
Your traditional insurance won't pay for more, but you still have goals you want help meeting.
Yes, and in some cases, better than going to a clinic. By being in your daily environment, your PT is highly customized to what’s available to you and not dependent on fancy equipment you won’t have access to long-term. This means you get sustainable tools to feel good even when we're apart.

Nope. California law allows me to see you for formal PT services for 12 visits or 45 days, whichever comes first, without a doctor’s prescription. After that, your doctor would need to sign off on your PT plan of care and that signature would need to correlate with an in-person visit with your doctor.
If you already have a doctor's order, yay! That means we don't have to follow the 12 visits or 45 day rule.
If you want to be seen for wellness PT services, you don't need anything from your doctor and we can work together as long as we want :)

Get your mind right! To get the most out of every visit you'll need your brain. I come with a lot of knowledge, but no one knows what it's like to live your life and be in your body but you. I expect collaboration, which means thinking! So, whatever you do to get your mind right- do that :)
For the first visit, we will start with a conversation to better guide the tests and assessments to be completed, so a comfortable place to talk is ideal. If you have any equipment you would like guidance on using (resistance bands, weights, etc.) also have those readily available.
If I'm coming to you: Prepare a space that gives room for a massage table and to do exercises/movements.
If you're doing telehealth: Make sure you are set-up to prop your phone, tablet, or computer up so you can do various movements in a way I can see you and when needed you can see me too. Ensure you have ample space to move. Otherwise, do the typical internet, device/app checks to make sure everything is working so we can get to gettin!
Not exactly , but that doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t use your insurance benefits. I’ll explain…
First, I do accept HSA (health spending account) and FSA (flex spending account) for payment.
However, Britta Jones Physical Therapy is an “out-of-network” or "non-participating" provider and I don’t directly take insurance. So, what happens when you see me, is you pay upfront, but after each visit I provide you with a document called a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network coverage. A lot of people are intimidated by this process, but I recommend using an amazing a cost effective service which makes getting paid by your insurance quick and easy- check out Reimbursify.
Being an “out-of-network” provider gives me the freedom to work with you as a whole person as opposed to an insurance code. Ultimately, this means you get the complete, customized care you need so you can achieve your goals and feel good long-term.
Contact your health insurance company to check your benefits. You can use this benefits check worksheet to guide you. If you don't understand all the insurance jargon you can use this glossary to decode the different terms :)
If that feels a bit overwhelming, you can call your insurance company, or contact us. We'll help explain, to the best of our knowledge, based on common insurance practices. We can also provide you with some tips on how to navigate that system. Be aware, your insurance company is the one that has the hard-core info.
Evaluation or 1 visit: $200
6 visit package: $190/visit = $1140
10 visit package: $180/visit = $1800
15 visit package: $170/visit = $2550
Visits are typically 55min.
If you're looking for wellness PT and are interested in visits less than 55min, contact me and I can give some additional options.
Let's get you moving?
I'll bring my knowledge of body and movement, you bring your knowledge of your life and your body. Together we'll discover the keys to unlocking your potential to be happy and mobile in the ways that suite you.
